Where I work
Based in Manalapan, covering Monmouth, Ocean & Middlesex Counties. These are the towns I am in most weeks.
Monmouth County
Manalapan
Home base. Most of Manalapan is within ten minutes of the shop, so same-week scheduling is usually straightforward and small jobs often get handled faster than that.
Marlboro
A short run up Route 79. Marlboro has a lot of 1980s and 1990s construction now hitting the age where bathrooms, floors and trim all want attention at once.
Freehold
Freehold Borough and Freehold Township both, from the older homes near the center to the newer developments out toward Route 9.
Colts Neck
Larger properties and older houses, which usually means the job list is longer and the work is more varied than a single-service call.
Holmdel
Straight up 34. Holmdel homes tend to be well maintained, so the work is more often upgrade and finish work than repair.
Howell
A large township with a wide range of housing stock, from older ranches to newer construction. Bathrooms and flooring are the most common calls.
Wall
Down toward the shore, where salt air is harder on exterior trim, decks and railings than it is further inland.
Middlesex County
Old Bridge
Just over the Middlesex line and an easy run. A lot of split-levels and colonials from the 1960s and 1970s that are due for updating.
Monroe
Including the adult communities, where grab bars, handrails, walk-in shower conversions and general accessibility work come up often.
East Brunswick
North on 18. Kitchens and bathrooms are the bulk of the work out here, along with flooring through the main level.
Ocean County and nearby
I regularly take work in Jackson, Lakewood, Brick, Toms River, Englishtown, Morganville, Matawan, Millstone, Aberdeen and Sayreville. If your town is not listed anywhere on this page, call and ask — the answer is usually yes.
